Ingredients

  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 Tbsp lemon juice
  • ⅓ cup water
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 2 packages (15 ct) Athens® Mini Fillo Shells, frozen
  • 2 cups chopped nuts (walnuts + salted pistachios)
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • 3 Tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • Melted chocolate chips (optional for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Make syrup with sugar, lemon, water, honey—boil and simmer. Cool completely.
  2. Pulse nuts in food processor, mix with cinnamon and melted butter.
  3. Fill each phyllo shell with 2 tsp mixture.
  4. Bake 10 minutes at 350°F.
  5. Drizzle syrup—1 tsp per cup, then repeat with ½ tsp.
  6. Rest for 6 hrs+ at room temp. Garnish with chocolate if desired.
