Ingredients
1 lb (450g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
3 tablespoons honey
3 tablespoons soy sauce (low sodium if preferred)
1 tablespoon fresh garlic, minced
1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
1 tablespoon olive oil or sesame oil
1 teaspoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
2 tablespoons water (if using cornstarch)
Optional: chopped green onions & sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
-
Make the sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, garlic, and ginger. Set aside.
-
Sear the shrimp: In a skillet over medium-high heat, add oil. Add shrimp and cook 1–2 minutes per side until pink and opaque.
-
Add the sauce: Pour the honey garlic mixture over the shrimp. Stir to coat evenly.
-
Thicken if needed: For a thicker sauce, mix cornstarch and water separately, then stir into the pan and cook for 1–2 minutes until glossy.
-
Serve immediately over rice or noodles. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions if desired.
Notes
-
For a spicier version, add 1 teaspoon of sriracha or red pepper flakes to the sauce.
-
Serve over white rice, jasmine rice, noodles, or with stir-fried vegetables.
