Description

Churro Saltine Toffee – a sweet, crunchy treat with buttery toffee, cinnamon sugar, and salty crackers. Quick, easy, and perfect for sharing!


Ingredients

1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter

1 cup brown sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup granulated sugar

1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

1 package (about 40) Saltine crackers

Optional: 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Optional: Chopped nuts (pecans, almonds)


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Arrange Saltine crackers in a single layer on the baking sheet.

  3. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Add brown sugar and stir until combined and bubbling.

  4. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and salt.

  5. Pour toffee mixture evenly over crackers; spread with a spatula.

  6. Bake for 5–7 minutes, until bubbly.

  7. While hot, sprinkle granulated sugar and ground cinnamon mixture over top.

  8. Optional: Melt chocolate chips and drizzle over toffee.

  9. Let cool completely, then break into pieces and enjoy.

Notes

For dairy-free: use vegan butter and dairy-free chocolate chips.

For gluten-free: use gluten-free crackers.
