This Cherry Pie Iced Tea blends homemade cherry pie syrup with bold black tea, creating a refreshing dessert-inspired drink perfect for hot summer days.
Ingredients
For the Homemade Cherry Pie Syrup:
1 cup frozen pitted cherries
⅓ cup granulated sugar
¼ cup water
Pinch of salt
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon butter extract
½ teaspoon cake batter extract (optional)
For the Cherry Pie Iced Tea:
2 cups Gold Peak Unsweetened Black Tea
4 tablespoons cherry pie syrup (from above)
Fresh cherries for garnish
Ice, as needed
Instructions

Make the syrup:
Add cherries, sugar, water, and salt to a saucepan. Cook over medium heat, mashing the cherries as they soften. Simmer until the mixture thickens slightly (about 10–12 minutes). -
Strain:
Press the cooked cherry mixture through a fine mesh strainer to extract syrup. Discard solids or save for another use. -
Flavor:
Stir in lemon juice, vanilla extract, butter extract, and optional cake batter extract. Let it cool completely. -
Assemble the drink:
Pour 2 cups of cold unsweetened black tea into a glass. Stir in 4 tablespoons of the cherry syrup. Add ice and garnish with fresh cherries. -
Serve immediately, preferably cold, and enjoy the nostalgic flavor of cherry pie in a glass!
